Customized Aircraft Meal Trolley Towing Robot- Autonomous Solution for Airline Ground Logistics
The aircraft meal trolley towing robot is a customer-tailored autonomous solution designed specifically for airline ground service operations. Engineered to handle the unique demands of airport logistics, this high-capacity AGV can autonomously tow up to 7 aircraft meal trolleys in a single mission, transporting them from the catering facility to designated aircraft boarding gates or storage zones with precision and reliability. Equipped with advanced laser SLAM navigation, the robot creates and updates its own digital map of the terminal environment in real time, enabling fully autonomous path planning, dynamic obstacle avoidance, and accurate docking at target locations. Its integrated vision system ensures precise alignment with trolley couplers during connection and disconnection processes, minimizing human intervention and reducing operational errors.
The robot features a robust, heavy-duty chassis built to withstand frequent use in busy airport environments. The automatic coupling mechanism allows seamless engagement with standard airline meal trolleys, while the intelligent control system enables safe acceleration, deceleration, and smooth turning-even when pulling multiple units. Once reaching the destination, the robot automatically releases the trolleys and returns to its charging station for autonomous charging without operator assistance.
Designed for continuous operation, it integrates seamlessly with airport management systems via standard communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, Modbus). It also includes safety features such as emergency stop buttons, anti-collision sensors, and audible/visual alerts to ensure safe interaction with personnel and equipment. With its dedicated design, high payload capacity, and full autonomy, this customized robot significantly improves efficiency, reduces labour costs, and enhances consistency in airline meal delivery workflows-making it an ideal partner for modern airport ground handling operations.
